How to Apply for Need-Based AidStudents interested in applying for institutionally provided need-based financial aid must complete two applications: the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the PROFILE provided by the College Scholarship Service. Parents and students must also submit copies of their most recently filed tax forms (all pages and schedules) and W-2 forms. Students interested only in federal student aid must complete only the FAFSA. Note: It is important for prospective students to indicate on their admissions application that they are applying for financial aid. Because Duke University maintains a need-blind admissions policy, applying for financial aid will NOT hurt a candidate's chances for admission. If you have already filed your admissions application and are uncertain if you checked the financial aid box, call the Undergraduate Admissions Office at (919) 684-3214 between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.(EST). Instructions for submitting these and other materials differs depending on the timing of the school application: |
